Information we may receive
This may include your name, telephone number, email address, property location, the service requested, access arrangements, photographs, equipment details and correspondence about an enquiry, quotation, booking, inspection or completed job.
How the website enquiry form works
The form prepares your answers as a message in WhatsApp or your email application. The answers are not saved in a Faultline Electrical website database. Information is received only after you choose to send the prepared message. WhatsApp and your email provider handle that message under their own privacy terms.
Why the information is used
- To respond to enquiries and understand the work requested.
- To prepare quotations, arrange access and manage appointments.
- To carry out electrical work, testing, reporting and remedial planning.
- To maintain appropriate safety, customer, accounting and insurance records.
- To deal with questions, complaints or legal obligations.
The usual lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, meeting legal obligations and Faultline Electrical's legitimate interests in operating and protecting the business. Your details are not sold and are not used for automated decision-making.
Who information may be shared with
Information is shared only where reasonably necessary—for example with a trusted electrician assisting on agreed work, relevant suppliers, professional advisers, insurers, accountants, email or communications providers, or a regulator or authority where required. Some service providers may process information outside the UK under their own lawful safeguards.
How long information is kept
General enquiries that do not lead to work are normally kept for no longer than 24 months. Quotations, job records, reports, photographs, invoices and related correspondence may be retained for up to seven years where needed for accounting, safety, insurance or legal purposes. Information may be kept longer when a continuing claim, dispute or legal requirement applies.
Cookies and website technology
Faultline Electrical does not currently use advertising or behavioural analytics cookies. The hosting service may use strictly necessary security, load-balancing or similar technical measures to deliver and protect the website. If non-essential analytics or advertising technology is introduced, this notice and the website's consent controls will be updated first.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to its use. Contact Faultline Electrical using the details above. If you remain unhappy, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
